Graphics are created either 100% in a graphics program, or source images and fonts are used with layering and effects added to create a final product.

  • Word art
    Word Art is basicly taking words and making them into word art by adding graphics and graphic effects. A logo is a good example of word art. Menu buttons are another example.

  • Photos
    Photos are normally handled in everyday jpeg file format. This is the format used by digital cameras; the difference between the raw image from the camera is it should be resized to fit onto a web page (between 1/6 and 1/3 the resolution of the raw image).

  • Graphic effects
    There are a large number of graphic programs all of which has effects that can be added to a image or wordart. Normally multible graphic effects are done to the graphic, reflections and shadows are layered, multible images are clipped and layered into the same graphic.

  • Animation effects
    Animation can be done with a graphic file format such as GIF, higher quality animated images are possible in an emerging graphic file format know as APNG (Animated PNG) PNG allow for 24K colors, as does jpeg, and use a loseless compression.
